High population growth and limited availability of land in Yogyakarta require proper planning and management in order to accomodate various uses including cemeteries. This research aims at developing GIS-based Decision Support Systems for both setting priority for managing the existing cemeteries and finding location for new cemeteries. Evaluation criteria covering policy, economic, physical, ecological and socio-cultural aspect related to lands were developed. The spatial-based Analytical Hierrarchy Proses (AHP) was applied to determine weight of each criterion which then they are used to develope suitability maps. The spatial multi-criteria evaluation (SMCE) and GIS overlay operations were applied to determine priority cemeteries and also to find suitable locations for new cemeteries. The result show that GIS-based decision support system combined with AHP and SMCE is able to set up priority cemeteries in Yogyakarta. It is also presented that using the criteria, and combine with the Yogyakarta city spatial plan, there is no suitable location to developed as new cemeteries within the area of Yogyakarta City.
