To know health problem of elderly in Indonesia, we do a) review of literature specifically on active aging and its determinants applied by international organizations (WHO, OECD, and UNESCAP) b) analysis of Basic Health Research 2007 data for Indonesia and province which has aging groups persentage above national percentage. It is concluded that in the year 2010, Indonesia had 11% (26 million) aging, and that there were six provinces that had aging more than national percentage. More than half of group of pre aging (55-64 years) and aging above 65 years old of age suffered from disability and joint disease. There is a need to develop program related to active aging and to further research on disability measurement and activities toward disability. Further research is needs to review field experience on how the researchers adapt their data collection method and activities to disabled aging group. Also, activities of public health center and aging community-based activity to support disabled aging group needs to be addressed.
