Satellite images and thematic information were used for the estimation of microscopic current land suitability for paddy and settlement. These data were analysed by a quantitative method known as quantification-2 theory the aid with of remote sensing and geographical information system. The study was conducted in Yogyakarta. Indonesia is having a regionally homogeneous physical characteristics. The results show that the combination of satellite images alone performed a reliable role for the estimation of macroscopic current land suitability. The land suitability score could be objectively quantified by introducing this method.
