AbstrakTo be a world-class company is every company's dream. However, to realize this aspiration a company must transform itself to become power house that contributes significantly to the economic growth and nation's prosperity. As a powerhouse in Indonesian cement industry, PT Semen Indonesia Tbk believes that to become a world-class engineering company it should be ready to compete in the regional and global markets. Therefore, building core competence as learning organizations and continuously renew its knowledge can be its source of sustainable competitive advantage. In addition, Center of Knowledge Management should also be established to support the development of these core competences. Then, followed by scenario planning development how this corporate center can adaptively develop these core competences along the way to the journey to the world class level. At the end, early warning signals should be anticipated by the center to effectively implement the developed scenarios.
