Pulp factory produces dark brown wastewater. Substance which produces this color, is known as lignin – a hardly biodegradable substance due to complex molecule structures. Four mold isolates were found from 20 samples originated from places with high lignin contents. Isolate 11 c (cf.Aspergilus sp) showed highest colour removal efficiency when compared to the other. Namely isolates 9a (cf.fusarium sp.), isolate 10 b(cf.Fusarium so.), isolate 12 (cf.aspergilus sp.) this isolates was able to remove color of pulp wastewater 67% on 7th day. This removal efficiency increased to 78% on 21st day. Optimum pH for this color removal was 2.5, which was original pH of wastewater. PH adjusment to 5,7, and 9 decreased color removal efficiency.
