Ketika merancang sebuah website, sangat diperlukanlah antarmuka yang sesuai dengan konsep Human and Computer Interaction (HCI). Antarmuka tersebut merupakan bagian yang sangat penting dari suatu sistem komputer. Antarmuka merupakan wajah dari sebuah sistem atau sebuah pintu gerbang masuk ke sistem yang diwujudkan ke dalam sebuah aplikasi perangkat lunak. Oleh karena itu, antarmuka harus mampu membantu mempermudah para pengguna dalam menggunakan suatu program. Sistem Peniliaian Esai Otomatis (Simple-O) merupakan program yang berbasis web yang bertujuan untuk mempermudah mengoreksi jawaban ujian dalam bentuk esai. Sama seperti web lainnya, Simple-O dalam perancangan serta pembuatannya memerlukan antarmuka yang sesuai dengan konsep Human and Computer Interaction. Dari hasil penelitian, pada kategori dosen didapatkan hasil nilai akhir untuk bagian tampilan antarmuka sebesar 5,44; sistem sebesar 5,38; dan keseluruhan sebesar 5,17. Untuk kategori mahasiswa, didapatkan hasil nilai akhir untuk bagian tampilan antarmuka sebesar 5,1; sistem sebesar 5,53; dan keseluruhan sebesar 5,33.

When designing a website, it requires the interface which is accordance with the concept of Human and Computer Interaction (HCI). Interface is a very important part of a computer system. Interface is the face of a system or a gateway into the system which is realized in a software application. Therefore, Interface should be able to help make a program easier for users to use it. “Program Sistem Penilai Esai Otomatis (Simple-O)” is a web based program that aims to facilitate correcting answer from examination in essay form. Just like the other web, in designing and manufacturing, Simple-O requires a suitable interface with the concept of Human and Computer Interaction. From the result by research, in lecturer’s category showed that the total score for part of user interface is 5.44; part of system is 5.38; and part of totality is 5.17. For students’s category showed that the total score for part of user interface is 5.1; part of system is 5.53; and part of totality is 5.33.
