nasional. Pasien TB paru mengalami perubahan fungsi paru akibat inflamasi
kronik sehingga terjadi penurunan kualitas hidup.
gambaran foto X-Ray toraks. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian cross sectional
yang dilakukan di Kabupaten Timor Tengah Selatan, Nusa Tenggara Timur pada
Juni 2011.
ABSTRACTThe prevalence of pulmonary TB in Indonesia is high (272 in 100.000
populations). It affects sosio-economy and quality of life of the patients so TB is
one of national health problems. Lung function in post pulmonary TB will decline
as a result of chronic inflamation leading to decreased quality of life. The six
minutes walking test is one of standardized simple tests to assess the functional
capacity of the lungs. This study aims to determine the result of six minutes
walking test of the post pulmonary tuberculosis patients and whether it is
associated with clinical symptoms and chest X-Ray findings of TB. This is a cross
sectional study held in South Central Timor District, East Nusa Tenggara on June
2011. Seventy eight subjects were selected using total sampling and interviewed
to find out any clinical symptoms left. Then, the patients were ask to complete six
minutes walking test measurement and chest X-Ray examination. The mean result
of six minutes walking test for male is 438.19 ± 117.77 m and for the female is
369.56 ± 143.10 m. Nine out of 78 subjects (11.5%) achieve normal results.
Percentage of subjects who still have clinical symptoms of TB is 56.41% and
88.5% shows lesions on chest X-Ray. It is concluded that there is a correlation
between six minutes walking test result with the clinical symptoms of TB (p =
0.009) and chest X-Ray findings (p = 0.000).
