[ABSTRAKSkripsi ini membahas tentang tindak ilokusi direktif pada percakapan antartokoh dalam novel Emil und die Detektive. Novel Emil und die Detektive merupakan novel karya Erich Kästner yang ditulis pada tahun 1935. Dalam penelitian ini, penulis meneliti jenis tindak ilokusi direktif yang terdapat dalam novel serta memaparkan sejauhmana tindak ilokusi direktif dapat mempengaruhi mitra tutur untuk melakukan tindakan yang diharapkan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Dalam menganalisis data, penulis mengacu pada teori tindak tutur menurut Searle, situasi tutur menurut Leech, dan prinsip kerja sama menurut Grice. Temuan dari penelitian ini adalah tidak semua tindak ilokusi direktif berhasil memengaruhi mitra tutur untuk melakukan tindakan yang diharapkan oleh penuturnya. Hal tersebut dapat disebabkan oleh situasi tutur yang melatarbelakangi suatu percakapan dan kurangnya kontribusi penutur atau mitra tutur dalam suatu percakapan.

;This research explores directive illocutionary in the dialogue between characters in the novel Emil und die Detektive written by Erich Kästner. Through this research, the writer observes whether the use of utterance in the dialogue between characters reach its purpose. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The writer analyses the dialog by applying Searle?s speech act theory, Leech?s aspects of speech situation, and cooperative principles by Grice. This research finds that not all of directive illocutionary able to make communication partner doing what speaker ask. It is related to speech situation and contribution between speaker and the communication partner.
