Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara persepsi diri terhadap penuaan dan kualitas hidup lansia pada domain kesehatan fisik, psikologis, hubungan sosial, danlingkungan.Persepsi diri terhadap penuaan adalah persepsi subjektif atau sikap individu lansia mengenai penuaan yang terjadi pada diri. Kualitas hidup merupakan persepsi individu terhadap posisi kehidupannya dalam konteks budaya dan sistem nilai di mana mereka tinggal, dan kaitannya dengan tujuan, harapan, standar dan hal lainnya yang menjadi perhatian individu tersebut. Alat ukur ATOA (Attitude Toward Own Aging) untuk mengukur persepsi diri terhadap penuaan diberikan pada 94 partisipan yang berusia 60 tahun ke atas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan korelasi positif antara persepsi diri terhadap penuaan dengan dua domain dari kualitashidup; psikologis dan lingkungan. Tidak terdapat korelasi antara persepsi diri terhadap penuaan dengan dua domain lainnya dalam kualitas hidup; yaitu kesehatan fisik dan hubungan sosial.

This study was conducted in order to see whether there is a correlation between self perception of aging and the quality of life in elderly in the domain of physical health, psychological, social relationships, and environment. Self perception of aging is an subjective perceptions or attitude about aging that happen in elderly individuals. The quality of life is an individual perception towards life position in cultural context, value system, and it association with purposes, expectations, standards and other matter which the individual concerned of. The Attitude Toward Own Aging (ATOA) for measuring self perception of aging was given to 94 participants aged 60 years and older. The results showed there was a positive significant correlation between self perception of aging and two out of four domains in the quality of life; psychological and the environment. There was no correlation between: self perception of aging and the other two domains in the quality of life; physical health and social relationship.
