Skripsi ini membahas tentang pemberlakuan SNI wajib terhadap regulator tekanan rendah untuk tabung baja LPG, dalam upaya untuk melindungi konsumen yang diatur dalam Undang-Undang No. 8 Tahun 1999 tentang Perlindungan Konsumen. Masih beredarnya regulator gas tekanan rendah untuk tabung baja LPG yang tidak sesuai dengan spesifikasi SNI menandakan masih belum efektifnya pemberlakuan wajib terhadap regulator gas yang sudah ditetapkan pemerintah. Pemerintah sudah melakukan pengawasan, pengamatan, pengujian, penelitian, dan perubahan peraturan terkait SNI wajib regulator gas. Terbukti dengan dikeluarkannya Peraturan Direktur Jenderal Industri Unggulan Berbasis Tinggi No: 19/IUBT/PER/6/2014 terkait pengawasan regulator gas dan undang-undang terbaru UU No. 20 Tahun 2014 tentang Standardisasi dan Penilaian Kesesuaian.

This thesis discusses the application of Indonesia National Standard (SNI) for the low pressure regulator for LPG steel tube, in an effort to protect consumers which are regulated in law number 8 of year 1999 on Consumer Protection. The availability of low pressure regulator for LPG steel tube which does not comply with SNI specification, signifies that the enforcement for it still not as effective as regulation that has been set by the government. The government has been conducting surveillance, observation, testing, research, and related regulatory changes like Regulation of the Director General of Commodity Based No: 19/IUBT/PER/6/2004 about Terms and Procedure related supervisory and the latest legislation law 20 year 2014 on Standardization and Conformity Assesment.
