Tingginya tingkat property theft (dikenal dengan nama korupsi) )yang dilakukan oleh pegawai pemerintahan di Indonesia mengakibatkan negara mengalami kerugian hingga triliunan rupiah, sayangnya, masih sangat sedikit penelitian yang dilakukan di Indonesia terkait hal ini. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji apakah ada hubungan antara conscietiousness, kontrol diri, dan sikap terhadap property theft dengan kohesi sosial sebagai moderator. Penelitian dilakukan terhadap 258 pegawai di sebuah institusi pemerintahan Indonesia dengan metode survey menggunakan kuesioner. Pengukuran sikap terhadap property theft menggunakan cara baru berupa skenario.
Hasil analisis moderated multiple-regresi menujukkan bahwa conscientiousness dan kontrol diri memiliki hubungan negatif dengan sikap terhadap property theft (βcons = -.196, p<0,05), (βkontrol = -.241, p<0,01), Selain itu, kohesi sosial secara signifikan memoderasi hubungan antara kontrol diri dan sikap terhadap property theft (βkohesi x kontrol = -.148, p>0.01).
The high level of property theft (known as corruption) committed by government employees in Indonesia resulted in losses up to trillions of rupiah, unfortunately, there is very little research conducted in Indonesia in relation to this topic. This study aimed to examine whether there is a relationship between conscietiousness, self-control, and attitude toward property theft with social cohesion as moderator. The data was gather from 258 public employees of Indonesia‘s government institution with a survey method using a questionnaire. Measurement attitude towards property theft using a new way in the form of scenarios. Results of moderated multiple-regression analysis showed that conscientiousness and self-control have a negative relationship with attitude toward property theft (βcons = -.196, p<0,05), (βcontrol = -.241, p<0,01). In addition, social cohesion is significantly moderated the relationship between self-control and attitudes towards property theft (βcohession x control = -.148, p>0.01)
