Data dari Komisi Penanggulangan AIDS dan Dinas Kesehatan Surakartamenunjukkan bahwa pada tahun 2015 jumlah total kasus HIV/AIDS mencapai1.356 kasus, dimana terjadi kenaikan sebanyak 172 kasus dari tahun 2013. Tujuanpenelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengalaman ODHA sebagai tenagavolunteer peer group support ODHA. Desain penelitian menggunakan metodekualitatif fenomenologi. Teknik pengambilan sampel dengan purposive sampling.Penelitian ini menggunakan 13 partisipan pada Kelompok Dukungan SebayaSolo. Hasil penelitian ini menghasilkan 5 (lima ). Tema tersebut adalah penilaianpositif terhadap diri, sumber motivasi volunteer, tantangan menjadi volunteer,upaya volunteer dalam meningkatkan kualitas hidup dan harapan sebagaivolunteer peer group support ODHA. Kesimpulan : Bekerja sebagai volunteermempengaruhi kehidupan ODHA. Perasaan dihargai, diterima dan bermanfaatbagi sesama dapat meningkatkan kualitas kehidupan ODHA. Diharapkan adanyapemberdayaan terhadap peer support dalam membantu perawatan ODHA.
