[ABSTRAK
Tingginya jumlah kekerasan kolektif dalam konflik antar kelompok etnis di Lampung menimbulkan kerugian nyawa dan materiil yang tidak sedikit. Pengaruh kesenjangan ekonomi dan ketidakadilan yang terdapat di masyarakat menjadi pendorong timbulnya kekerasan kolektif. Penulisan tentang konflik yang terjadi antara kelompok etnis Lampung dan kelompok etnis Bali yang terjadi di desa Balinuraga ini menempatkan gejala tersebut dalam konteks tingkah laku kekerasan kolektif menggunakan model analisis dari teori tingkah laku kolektif oleh Smelser. Hasil analisa penulisan ini menunjukkan adanya faktor yang menyebabkan terjadinya kekerasan kolektif antar kelompok etnis Lampung dan kelompok etnis Bali di desa Balinuraga. Faktor tersebut berupa, faktor kondusifitas struktural akibat persaingan ekonomi dan ketidakadilan yang menimbulkan ketegangan struktural. Ketegangan ini menjadi sebuah keyakinan yang kemudian disebarluaskan dan dipertegas dengan adanya faktor peristiwa pencetus, sehingga mendorong upaya mobilisasi secara kolektif. Upaya pencegahan dari aparat pengendali sosial yang tidak maksimal menyebabkan kekerasan kolektif semakin meluas.

The high rate of collective violence in the inter-ethnic groups conflicts in Lampung causes significant loses. Economic gap and injustice are the driving force behind the collective violenc. This paper will elaborate conflicts between Lampung and Bali ethnic group in Balinuraga and places the phenomenom in the context of collective violence by using analysis model of Smelser?s Collective Behaviour Theory. The analysis shows factor that lead to collective violence between Lampung and Bali ethnic group in Balinuraga. Those factors are included structural conduciveness as the result of economic competitiveness and injustice which cause structural tension. This tension has turned into conviction that is sisseminated and reinforced by events that drive collective mobilisation.
