[ABSTRAK Artikel ini membahas tentang emansipasi perempuan dalam film Coco Avant Chanelkarya Anne Fontaine. Penelitian ini dibahas menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan berdasarpada teori kajian sinema oleh Joseph Boggs dan Dennis Petrie (2011). Dari hasil penelitian,ditemukan bahwa tokoh utama Coco Chanel berjuang keras untuk menuju kemandirianditengah tekanan masyarakat patriarki Prancis di awal abad ke-20. Dalam perjuangan tersebutditemukan banyak wacana emansipasi sesuai pemikiran feminis Simone de Beauvoir (1949).Pada akhirnya dapat disimpulkan bahwa tokoh utama berhasil memberontak tekananmasyarakat patriarki melalui penampilan, sikap, dan ideologinya ;ABSTRACT This article is about women emancipation in Coco Avant Chanel, a film by Anne
