[ABSTRAK Apotek merupakan salah satu sarana penunjang kesehatan yang turut berperan dalam mewujudkan upaya kesehatan yang dilaksanakan oleh pemerintah. Menurut Peraturan Pemerintah No. 51 tahun 2009 tentang Pekerjaan Kefarmasian, dalam ketentuan umum dijelaskan bahwa apotek adalah sarana pelayanan kefarmasian tempat dilakukan praktek kefarmasian oleh apoteker. Sebagai tempat pengabdian apoteker, apotek berfungsi untuk melaksanakan peracikan, pengubahan bentuk, pencampuran dan penyerahan obat atau bahan obat, dan sebagai sarana penyalur perbekalan farmasi yang harus menyebarkan obat yang diperlukan masyarakat secara meluas dan merata. Apotek juga berperan sebagai sarana pemberian informasi obat kepada masyarakat dan tenaga kesehatan lainnya sehingga kedua pihak tersebut mendapatkan pengetahuan yang benar tentang obat dan turut meningkatkan penggunaan obat yang rasional. Selain sebagai tempat pengabdian apoteker, apotek juga berfungsi sebagai lahan bisnis. Apotek yang dikelola dengan baik akan memberikan keuntungan yang cukup besar. Oleh karena itu, apoteker perlu mengetahui konsep managemen dan bisnis di apotek.ABSTRACT The pharmacy is one of the means of supporting health that playing a role in creating health measures undertaken by the government.
