[Latar Belakang: Estimasi usia penting untuk identifikasi individu. Perkembangan akar gigi molar tiga terjadi pada usia 15-25 tahun. Tujuan: Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui akurasi estimasi usia 15–25 tahun menggunakan metode Thevissen di Indonesia. Metode: Menerapkan metode Thevissen pada 100 radiograf panoramik laki-laki dan perempuan. Uji reliabilitas menggunakan formula Dahlberg dan uji Cohen’s Kappa serta signifikansi pengukuran menggunakan uji-t berpasangan dan uji Wilcoxon. Kemudian dilakukan perhitungan besar penyimpangan hasil estimasi usia. Hasil: Penyimpangan estimasi usia laki-laki adalah ±3,050 tahun dan perempuan adalah ±2,067 tahun. Kesimpulan: Penyimpangan estimasi usia perempuan lebih kecil dari estimasi usia laki-laki. Metode Thevissen lebih diutamakan untuk usia 15–22 tahun., Background: Age estimation is important for individual identification. Root development of third molars occurs at age 15-25 years. Objective: This study is conducted to find out the accuracy of age estimation using Thevissen method in Indonesia. Method: Applying Thevissen method on 100 panoramic radiographs male and female subjects. Reliabilities tested by Dahlberg formula and Cohen’s Kappa test and the significancy measurement tested by the paired t-test and Wilcoxon test. Then calculate the deviation of estimated age. Results: The deviation of age estimation of male subject is ±3,050 years and age estimation of female subject is ±2,067 years. Conclusions: The deviation of age estimation of female subject less than male subject. The age estimation with Thevissen method is preferred for age 15-22 years]
