Penelitian ini membahas mengenai seleksi kandidat perempuan dalam pencalonan anggota DPR RI pada Pemilu 2014 di PPP, PKS, dan PDI Perjuangan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan instrumen wawancara mendalam, studi literatur, dan dokumen sebagai metode dalam pengumpulan data. Asumsi dari penelitian ini adalah PPP memiliki seleksi kandidat perempuan yang cenderung berorientasi birokratik karena terjadi peningkatan keterwakilan politik perempuan di DPR RI pada Pemilu 2014, PKS memiliki seleksi kandidat perempuan yang berorientasi patronase karena terjadi penurunan keterwakilan politik perempuan di DPR RI pada Pemilu 2014, dan PDI Perjuangan memiliki seleksi kandidat perempuan yang cenderung berorientasi patronase karena terjadi stagnansi keterwakilan politik perempuan di DPR RI pada Pemilu 2014 dengan menggunakan kerangka Matland. Temuan pertama dari penelitian ini adalah seleksi kandidat perempuan dalam pencalonan anggota DPR RI di PPP pada Pemilu 2014 memiliki sistem yang berorientasi patronase. Temuan kedua dari penelitian ini adalah seleksi kandidat perempuan dalam pencalonan anggota DPR RI di PKS pada Pemilu 2014 memiliki sistem yang cenderung berorientasi birokratik. Temuan ketiga adalah seleksi kandidat perempuan dalam pencalonan anggota DPR RI di PDI Perjuangan pada Pemilu 2014 memiliki sistem yang cenderung beorientasi patronase. Dalam penelitian ini, seleksi kandidat perempuan yang berorientase patronase dapat meningkatkan keterwakilan politik perempuan di arena politik formal, khususnya DPR RI.

This thesis discussed the political party PPP, PKS, and PDI Perjuangan?s selection of women candidates in the nomination of the prospective members of The House of Representatives of Republic of Indonesia (DPR RI) during the General Elections of 2014. This research used qualitative method with the instruments of in-depth interviews, literature studies, and document studies to gather the data. Using the framework of Matland, the author formulated assumptions as follows: the first assumption of the research was the PPP tended to be a bureaucraticoriented selection system since there was an increasing number of its women?s political representation in the council, the PKS had a patronage-oriented selection system since there was a decreasing number of its representation, and the PDI Perjuangan tended to be patronage-oriented system since there was a stagnation in the representation. The first finding of the research revealed that the selection in PPP had a patronage-oriented system. Another finding showed that the selection in PKS had the tendency to have a bureaucratic-oriented system. The selection system in PDI Perjuangan, on the other hand, tended to be patronage-oriented. The research showed that the selection of women candidates with patronageoriented system could increase the women?s political representation in the formal political arena, in particular DPR RI.
