Kloning mendapatkan perhatian dari masyarakat ketika domba Dolly berhasildiciptakan, sebagai sebuah bukti nyata dari konsep kloning. Kloning domba Dollyyang telah berhasil menimbulkan posibilitas lain, yaitu kloning manusia. Kloningmanusia sebagai sebuah konsep cenderung dilihat melalui sisi etis atau religi, atausisi lainnya, tetapi tidak terdapat sebuah pendapat melalui kondisi mental ataukesadaran dari klon manusia itu sendiri. Jika kloning manusia merupakan sebuahposibilitas, maka pemahaman terhadap konsep kondisi mental atau kesadaran dariklon manusia perlu dibentuk melalui teori-teori dalam Philosophy of Mind,khususnya melalui argumentasi zombie pada dualisme properti dan fisikalisme.
