ABSTRAKEpisiotomi bertujuan untuk membantu persalinan pada kala dua, namun episiotomi dapat menyebabkan banyak kehilangan darah, menimbulkan nyeri dan penyembuhan luka yang dapat berlangsung lambat sehingga mengganggu aktifitas ibu pasca melahirkan. Beberapa terapi non farmakologis dapat digunakan untuk mengatasi dampak tersebut. Penelitian komparatif ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi perbedaan tingkat nyeri dan penyembuhan luka ibu paska episiotomi pada terapi sitz bath dan infra merah. Teknik consecutive sampling digunakan untuk memilih 72 orang ibu postpartum dan dibagi menjadi dua kelompok yaitu 36 orang terapi sitz bath dan 36 orang terapi inframerah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tidak ada perbedaan tingkat nyeri pada pengukuran kedua antara terapi sitz bath dan terapi infra merah (p = 0,603). Ada perbedaan proporsi penyembuhan luka pada kedua kelompok terapi,( OR=3,912 ; 95%CI=1,407-10,875), kelompok terapi infra merah memiliki peluang 3,9 kali penyembuhan luka lebih baik dibandingkan terapi sitz bath. Faktor yang berhubungan dengan tingkat nyeri dan penyembuhan luka pada kelompok terapi infra merah adalah derajat laserasi. Terapi infra merah dapat diterapkan pada pelayanan keperawatan maternitas terutama untuk penanganan luka episiotomi pada ibu postpartum.

ABSTRACT

Episiotomy aims to help the 2nd stage of labor, however episiotomy can cause excessive blood loss, pain and slow wound healing that can debilitate postpartum mothers. Several non-pharmacological therapies can be used to address these impacts. This comparative research aimed to identify the difference of pain level and wound healing of post-episiotomy mothers treated by sitz bath and infrared therapy. Consecutive sampling technique was applied to select 72 postpartum mothers who were divided into 2 groups: 36 mothers were treated by sitz bath therapy and 36 mothers were treated by infrared therapy. The results showed there was no difference of pain level in the second measurement between sitz bath and infrared therapy (p = 0.603). There were differences of wound healing proportion in those two treatment groups, (OR = 3.912; 95% CI = 1.407-10.875), the infrared therapy group had 3.9 times chances of better wound healing than the sitz bath therapy. Factors correlated to the pain level and wound healing in the group of infrared therapy was the lacerations degree. Infrared therapy can be applied in maternity nursing services primarily for the episiotomy wound treatment of postpartum mothers.
