Tesis ini membahas tentang analisis perkembangan sanitasi lingkungan di Kota Depok, analisis faktor - faktor yang menentukan perkembangan sanitasi lingkungan di Kota Depok dan analisis efektifitas pelaksanaan program Sanitasi Total Berbasis Masyarakat (STBM) di Kota Depok. Yang diharapkan dari adanya program STBM adalah menurunnya kejadian diare dan penyakit berbasis lingkungan yang berkaitan dengan sanitasi dan perilaku melalui penciptaan kondisi sanitasi total. Penelitian ini merupakan kajian empiris yang lebih banyak menggunakan data kuantitatif, baik sekunder maupun primer.Hasil penelitian melihat perkembangan sanitasi di Kota Depok dan Daerah Survey, efektivitas pelaksanaan STBM terjadi penurunan dari persentase rata ? rata kasus diare tahun 2007 ? 2011 sebesar 1,95% menjadi sebesar 1,52% pada tahun 2012 - 2014. Jadi program STBM cukup efektif menurunkan angka kasus diare. Terdapat peningkatan dalam efektivitas pelaksanaan STBM di Kota Depok, yang tadinya hanya mencakup 1 lokasi (1,59%) pada tahun 2012 menjadi 32 lokasi pada tahun 2013 (50,79%) dan pada tahun 2014 menjadi 60 lokasi (95,24%).Berdasarkan pengumpulan data primer, ditunjukkan bahwa rata-rata lama sakit akibat diare adalah 5 hari, dengan kerugian akibat kehilangan pendapatan sekitar Rp. 500.000,-. Karena itu benefit dari perbaikan sanitasi lingkungan adalah amat besar. Hampir seluruh rumah tangga, menggunakan dana sendiri untuk membuat jamban, tetapi umumnya tidak memiliki dana untuk membuat septic tank karena 61,1% responden tidak memiliki septic tank. Faktor yang mempengaruhi adalah kebijakan pemerintah, tingkat pendapatan dan kebiasaan.

This thesis discusses the analysis of the development of environmental sanitation in the city of Depok, analysis of factors that determine the development of environmental sanitation in Depok and analysis of the effectiveness of the implementation of the Community Based Total Sanitation program in the city of Depok. Expected from the program CBTS is decreasing the incidence of diarrhea and disease based on environment related to sanitation and behavior through the creation of sanitary conditions in total. This research is more empirical studies using quantitative data, both secondary and primary.Results of the study saw the development of sanitation in the city of Depok and Regional Survey, effectiveness of implementation CBTS decrease of the percentage of the averages incidence of diarrhea in 2007 - 2011 of 1.95% to 1.52% in 2012 - 2014. So the program is quite effective CBTS reduce the number of cases of diarrhea. There is an increase in the effectiveness of the implementation of CBTS in Depok, which was only includes 1 location (1.59%) in 2012 to 32 locations in 2013 (50.79%) and in 2014 to 60 locations (95.24%).Based on primary data collection, indicated that the average length of illness due to diarrhea was 5 days, with losses due to lost revenues of approximately Rp. 500.000,-. Therefore benefit from the improvement of environmental sanitation is enormous. Almost all households use their own funds to make a latrine, but generally do not have the funds to make the septic tank because 61.1% of respondents do not have a septic tank.
