this research were intended to find out the press role in socializing the district automy wisdom in Jakarta. this research are using survey ,ethod with descriptive research character and quantitative approach research. the result are almost 70 percent of respondent are understand about the description of district autonomy according to UU No. 22/1999 about district government. and the respondent scoring that, positive district autonomy and it's application in Jakarta was already in operation. the frequency of newspaper report about district autonomy is enough and easy to understand, also increasing knowledge. and press are playing role in socializing the district autonomy report.
