Hipertensi merupakan gangguan kesehatan yang banyak ditemukan pada lansia dan dapat meningkatkan risiko gangguan fungsi kognitif. Pada kelompok lansia yang terdiagnosa hipertensi, tingkat tekanan darah dapat mempengaruhi status fungsi kognitif. Penelitian bertujuan untuk melihat hubungan tekanan darah dengan fungsi kognitif pada lansia hipertensi di Kota Depok. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain cross-sectional dengan sampel 72 lansia (nilai tengah usia: 66 tahun; 58,4% perempuan) terdiagnosa hipertensi di komunitas yang dipilih dengan metode purposive sampling. Analisis bivariat antara tekanan darah dengan fungsi kognitif menggunakan uji Kruskal-Wallis dengan confident interval 95%. Hasil penelitian mendapatkan bahwa tidak terdapat hubungan yang bermakna antara tekanan darah dengan fungsi kognitif lansia hipertensi (p: 0,398). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa tingkat tekanan darah pada lansia hipertensi tidak menentukan fungsi kognitif.

Hypertension is a health problem which commonly found in older adults and may increase the risk of cognitive impairment. In hypertensive older adults group, blood pressure levels can affect cognitive function status. The study aims to see the correlation of blood pressure and cognitive function in hypertensive older adults in Depok City. This study used a cross-sectional design with 72 hypertensive older adult (median age: 66 years; 58,4% female) in the community selected by purposive sampling methods. The bivariate analysis between blood pressure and cognitive function using the Kruskal-Wallis test with 95% confident interval. Results of the study found that there was no significant correlation between blood pressure and cognitive function in hypertensive older adults (p: 0.398). These results indicate that the levels of blood pressure in hypertensive older adults not determine cognitive function.
