ABSTRAK
Skripsi ini membahas persepsi mahasiswa tingkat akhir jurusan akuntansi FakultasEkonomi dan Bisnis Universitas Indonesia mengenai kesiapannya menghadapidunia kerja dengan melihat employability skills yang dimiliki. Penelitian ini adalahpenelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan FGD dan wawancara sebagai metodepengumpulan data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebenarnya mahasiswamemahami kemampuan apa saja yang dibutuhkan dalam bekerja, meskipun tidaksemua kemampuan dikuasai. Hal ini menunjukkan adanya kesenjangan antarakemampuan yang dibutuhkan oleh employer dengan apa yang dimiliki olehmahasiswa. Untuk mengatasinya, disarankan adanya evaluasi oleh universitas danmahasiswa itu sendiri tentang pengembangan kemampuan. Selain itu, ditemukanjuga bahwa magang merupakan sumber informasi yang paling baik untukmemberikan pemahaman tentang employability skills.

ABSTRACT
The focus of this study is the perception of final year accounting student atUniversitas Indonesia about their work readiness regarding the employability skills.This study uses qualitative approach with focus group discussion and interview asthe data collection method. The result of this study shows that students have a goodunderstanding about the skills needed at work (employability skills). In spite of theirunderstanding, the students have no confidence about their work readinessregarding those skills, except for the teamwork skill. This fact indicates that thereis a gap between the competencies needed by employer with what will be offeredby the students when they enter the workfield. To overcome this gap, the researchersuggests that the university and the student need to do an evaluation about the skillsimprovement. Moreover, the study also shows that internship is the best way to gainunderstanding about the employability skills.
