 Abstract

Limbah organik yang berpotensi menjadi sumber energi dengan metode anaerobic digestion seringkali mengalami ketidaksabilan karena konsentrasi VFAs yang tinggi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah meningkatkan produksi metana pada AD dengan kombinasi dua substrat yaitu limbah organik (LO) dan kotoran sapi (KS) yang berperan sebagai buffer dengan uji biochemical methane potential (BMP). Uji BMP dilakukan selama 35 hari pada suhu ±35⁰C dengan mengukur volume dan persentase biogas setiap minggu serta pengujian karakteristik awal dan akhir sampel. Volume metana pada setiap variasi perbandingan sampel tidak menunjukkan adanya perbedaan pada minggu ke-5 kecuali pada perbandingan LO /KS :12/1 dengan 3/1, dimana sampel dengan perbandingan 3/1 memiliki potensi yang paling besar yaitu 0,58±0,015(n=3) LCH4/grVS. Penambahan kotoran sapi juga membuat keseluruhan variasi perbandingan stabil selama pengujian BMP terutama sampel 6:1 dengan VFAs/alkalinitas yang <0,3 walaupun rasio C/N <20.

Organic waste that could potentially be a source of energy by anaerobic digestion methods are often unstable because of the high concentration of VFAs. The purpose of this research is to increase the production of methane by anaerobic digestion with two substrates combination The combination is between organic waste and cow manure which acted as a buffer with a biochemical methane potential testing. BMP testing conducted over 35 days at a temperature of ± 35⁰C by measuring the volume and percentage of biogas every week and testing the characteristics of the beginning and end of the sample. The result of the sample variation is that the volume of methane did not show any difference in the 5th week except in comparison organic waste / cow manure: 12/1 to 3/1, but the sample with a ratio of 3/1 has the greatest potential, namely 0,58 ± 0.015 (n = 3) LCH4 / grVS. With the addition of cow manure also makes the conditiin of overall variation is stable during testing BMP with VFAs / alkalinity <0.3 although C / N ratio of each variation is <20.
