ABSTRAK
Keputusan mahasiswa UI dalam memilih program student exchange darilembaga international office UI mencerminkan murni rangkaian proses sikap yangdipersepsikan secara ruang. Perilaku spasial mahasiswa UI dalam memilih programpertukaran pelajar (student exchange) dipengaruhi oleh faktor intrinsik dan ekstrinsik.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat bagaimana perilaku spasial mahasiswa UIdalam memilih program student exchange dan faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhinyaberdasarkan variabel intangible. Metode analisa yang digunakan adalah analisisdeskriptif dan analisis spasial berdasarkan hasil wawancara yang dilakukan terhadapinforman kunci dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Hasil analisismemberikan kesimpulan bahwa komponen sikap sangat berperan penuh dalam prosespengambilan keputusan program student exchange. Faktor intrinsik meliputi aspekkognitif yaitu jaringan kerabat, informasi media website/milis IO UI, dan sosialisasiprogram student exchange. Aspek afektif meliputi motivasi intrinsik yaitu faktorakademis, mencari pengalaman/teman baru, dan budaya/jalan-jalan. Motivasiektrinsik yaitu dorongan dari pihak keluarga, senior, dan dosen. Aspek konatif sangatdipengaruhi oleh kebiasaan informan mengikuti program yang serupa yaitu:conference, traveling, dan program student exchange. Faktor ekstrinsik sangatdipengaruhi oleh penilaian dalam memilih negara, jenis, universitas, dan jenisprogram. Sementara pada place, tiap informan menurut rumpun ilmu memilikicognitive space yang berbeda-beda terhadap pengambilan keputusannya.Kecenderungan informan yaitu memilih negara dan universitas yang dipersepsikanatas ruang sebagai sesuatu yang homely, out of the box, layaknya rumah, rapih/bersih,dan pengalaman/kehidupan yang berbeda.

ABSTRACT
Spatial behavior of Universitas Indonesia?s students in choosing studentexchange programs is influenced by intrinsic and extrinsic factors. Each informantbased on major clumps has different cognitive space to the decision-making process.This study aims to observe how the spatial behavior of Universitas Indonesia?sstudents in selecting student exchange programs and the factors that influence thebehavior. In order to achieve the research objectives, the descriptive analysis andspatial analysis method are used based on the interviews results that is conductedconducted with key informants using purposive sampling technique. The analysisresults provide a conclusion that based on the attitude components, intrinsic:cognitive, affective and conative aspects and extrinsic factors have a great role in thedecision-making process. Related with the cognitive aspects (resources search)student exchange programs are obtained through relatives, IO UI media website /mailing and the student exchange programs socializations. Furthermore, affectiveaspects include intrinsic and extrinsic motivations. The intrinsic motivation factorsinclude academic, looking for experiences / new friends and cultural / sightseeing.Whereas the extrinsic motivations include the encouragement from families, seniorsand lecturers. The conative aspect is strongly influenced by the informants? habitjoining similar programs, such as: conferences, travelings and student exchangeprograms. The extrinsic factors are greatly influenced by the sense in selectingcountries, types of programs and universities.
