 Abstract

Daun binahong (Anredera cordifolia (Ten.) Steenis)telah diketahui memiliki aktivitas antibakteri namun belum diketahui aktivitasnya terhadap Propionibacterium acnes sebagai salah satu bakteri yang berperan dalam patogenesis jerawat. Dalam penelitian ini ekstrak daun binahong mengandung asam ursolat 1,28% kemudian diuji secara in vitro terhadap Propionibacterium acnes sehingga didapatkan konsentrasi bunuh minimum sebesar 0,05%. Emulgel yang dibuat dari ekstrak daun binahong dalam penelitian ini memiliki stabilitas fisik yang baik selama 12 minggu dan jumlah kumulatif asam ursolat yang terpenetrasi dari sediaan ini dengan sel difusi franz yaitu pada formula 1 adalah 38,60 μgcm-2 dan emulgel formula 2 yaitu 107,37 μgcm-2. Sediaan emulgel ekstrak daun binahong didapatkan zona hambat terhadap bakteri Propionibacterium acnes dari sediaan emulgel lebih besar dibandingkan klindamisin fosfat 1,2% yaitu pada formula 1 sebesar 19,67 mm dan formula 2 sebesar 20,67 mm sedangkan klindamisin fosfat 1,2% memiliki zona hambat yaitu 16,33 mm.

Binahong (Anredera cordifolia (Ten) Steenis) leaves have been known to have antibacterial activity but it is not known activity against Propionibacterium acnes as one of the bacteria that play a role in the pathogenesis of acne. In this study, binahong leaves extract containing 1,28% Ursolic acid and then in vitro testing of binahong leaves extract against Propionibacterium acnes have a minimum bactericidal concentration is 0,05%. Emulgel made from binahong leaves extract in this study had good physical stability for 12 weeks and the cumulative amount Ursolic acid which penetrated from emulgel by Franz diffusion cell that is in formula 1 is 38, 60 μgcm-2 and emulgel formula 2 is 107,37 μgcm-2. Inhibition zone of emulgel is greater than clindamycin phosphate 1,2% against Propionibacterium acnes , which is in formula 1 is 19,67 mm and formula 2 is 20,67 mm while clindamycin phosphate 1,2% have a inhibition zone is 16,33 mm.
