The mesial tipping of molar is frequently found in orthodontic cases. This molar malposjtion must be corrected since it may cause periodontal disorders, occlusal interferences, and temporomandibular joint dysfunction, and is olten needed in planning a fixed bridge. This paper is a literature study to discuss about appliance designs, indication and contraindication, and complication and treatment protocols of molar uprighting by fixed orthodontic appliances. By knowing the techniques of molar uprighting, the momens mentioned above can be avoided.
