Pain in periodontal disease has many variations from slight discomfort to very severe pain. Pain can be a tormenting experincence for some dental patients. Every patient wants to avoid pain and this is a task for the dentists effort in clinical practice. Treatment of pain can be vary in periodontal disease, but the different optional treatments oral physiotherapy is one to be recommended. The patient should be well motivated to wards good oral hygiene, to relieve pain and prevent its recurrence.
