This research is aimed to identify and explain the effort and obstacles in curbing of abandoned land. Data was obtained through library and field research. The library research by using text book, research report, regulation and other documents. The field research by using interview´s guide. The reseach result shows that local government has presented efforts to curb of abadoned land by establishing special team. The team has presented inventories, calling and warning, request cancellation of abandoned land. The team did not work optimum because of local security is not condusive and finance limitedness
