In 1973, Jakarta Municipal Authority introduced some policies to revitalize and to conserve Jakarta Kota. Subsequently, independent researchers, universities, NGOs. and Jakarta Municipal authority have conducted researches, exhibitions, and/or events to promote the culture and history of Jakarta Kota to a wider public. Such campaigns are held regularly that it has become a tradition, which unintendedly freeze public's perception of Jakarta Kota. Every endeavor to comprehend Old Town Jakarta holistically has revolved around its history, old buildings, and morphology disregarding the fact thai the area has undergone rapid urban development. Heat conditions, such as air pollution caused by traffic congestion and criminalities, are rarely exposed. Dynamic movements of space utilization by ojeg sepeda (people who earn money by taking people on bicycle), pedagang kaki lima (street merchant), pendaur tilang kardus (people who recycle used carton box), pemungut sampah (informal garbage collector), and mikrolet (a small car that is used for public transportation) as the prominent occupies of the area are omitted from the campaign. This paper proposes an alternative platform to revitalization in Jakarta Kota by mapping the activities and the movement in Jakarta Kota. Afterwards I will compare this map to the one that is often used in the campaign in to exhibit the discrepancy of information and images.
