Permasalahan kesehatan akibat kurangnya cuci tangan pakai sabun (CTPS) masih menjadi masalah di dunia. CTPS belum banyak diterapkan oleh masyarakat, termasuk di MI Yapimda Jakarta Selatan yang baru saja mendapat intervensi untuk pertama kalinya oleh peneliti. Penelitian dilakukan pada 55 siswa kelas 4 dan 5 selama bulan Mei-Juni 2011 untuk melihat hubungan jenis kelamin, pekerjaan orang tua, suku bangsa orang tua, pengetahuan, sikap, dukungan orang tua, dukungan guru, sanksi sekolah, dan keterjangkauan fasilitas CTPS di sekolah dengan perilaku CTPS. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, hanya dukungan orang tua yang memiliki hubungan signifikan dengan perilaku CTPS pada siswa MI Yapimda.
The lack of hand washing with soap (HWWS) still contributing many health problems. Society not adopted this concept widely, as researcher found in Yapimda Islamic Primary School (MI Yapimda) in South Jakarta, which never received any intervention before. During May - June 2011, 55 students from 4th and 5th grade observed to examine any connection between gender, parent's occupation, ethnic, knowledge, attitude, parental and teacher's support, school regulation, and the accessibility of facilities in school with the behavior of HWWS. As the result, only parental support had significant connection with student behavior of HWWS at MI Yapimda.
