ABSTRAK
Skripsi ini membahas tentang Kristen Koptik di Mesir dengan mengangkat isu sosial dan budaya. Kristen Koptik adalah agama minoritas yang ada di Mesir. Penyebutan Koptik yang berasal dari bahasa Yunani berarti orang-orang Mesir. Namun kini penyebutan Koptik hanya dimaksudkan untuk orang-orang Kristen di Mesir. Kristen Koptik berbeda dengan Kristen lainnya karena mendapatkan pengaruh dari budaya Mesir kuno. Kehidupan sosial budaya Mesir tidak terlepas dari pengaruh agama Islam dengan adanya arabisasi. Sehingga hal tersebut juga memicu adanya akulturasi yang terjadi antara Kristen Koptik Mesir dan Islam. Metode penelitian yang digunakan penulis dalam penyusunan skripsi ini adalah metode historis-deskriptif dengan empat tahapan dalam metode sejarah, yaitu heuristik, kritik, interpretasi, dan historiografi dengan menitikberatkan pada sumber-sumber tertulis. Metode tersebut digunakan untuk mendapatkan data sehingga menghasilkan analisis data yang mendalam tentang tema yang diteliti penulis. Hasil penelitian menjelaskan bahwa Kristen Koptik di Mesir memiliki ajaran yang berbeda dengan Kristen lainnya karena terpengaruh kebudayaan Mesir kuno. Ajaran-ajaran Kristen Koptik juga ada yang terpengaruh oleh budaya Arab dan Islam yang masuk ke Mesir. Kehidupan sosial umat Kristen Koptik sangat bervariasi di Mesir. Aktivitas ekonomi dalam sektor bisnis di Mesir sebagian besar dikuasai oleh umat Kristen Koptik.

ABSTRACT
This thesis discusses the Coptic Christian in Egypt in raising issues of social and culture. Coptic Christian is a religious minority in Egypt. The mention of Coptic derived from the Greek nouns refers to the Egyptian people. However, nowadays the word Copts and Coptic is meant only for the Coptic Christians in Egypt. Coptic Christian is different from another Christian in the world because they have been influenced by the ancient Egyptian culture. Egypt 39 s social and cultural life is inseparable from the influence of Islam in the presence of Arabization. So that it also triggers acculturation that occurs between the Coptic Christian of Egypt and Islam. The methods used in the preparation of this thesis is the historical descriptive with four stages in the historical method, they are the heuristic, criticism, interpretation, and historiography with emphasis on written sources. The method used to obtain the datas on purpose to produce in depth data analysis examined about the theme that is disscussed. The results of the study explained that the Coptic Christian in Egypt has different teaching with other Christians because it is affected by the culture of ancient Egypt. Coptic Christian teachings also influenced by Arab culture and Islam that come into Egypt. The social life of Coptic Christians varies, but many among the Coptic Christians dominate the economic business in Egypt.
