 Abstract

Paduan aluminium telah digunakan sebagai pengganti baja pada pembuatan turbin impeller organic rankine cycle ORC untuk mengurangi densitas dan meningkatkan efisiensi pembangkit. Sementara itu, kekuatan mekanis yang kurang pada paduan dapat ditingkatkan dengan penambahan tembaga. Paduan Al-9Zn-4Mg-xCu setelah dilakukan penuaan, dimasukan ke dalam wadah berisi fluida bergerak yang masing-masing mengandung 3,5 NaCl, 5wt SiO2 dan R134-a. Penelitian ini mengkaji ketahanan korosi paduan Al-9Zn-4Mg-xCu melalui identifikasi kerusakan dengan kehilangan berat, pengamatan makrostruktur dan mikrostruktur. Dari hasil pengujian, didapatkan paduan dengan kandungan 0 wt Cu tahan terhadap korosi pada masing-masing media.

Aluminum alloy has been used as a replacement for steel in the manufacture of turbine impeller organic rankine cycle ORC to reduce the density and increase plant efficiency. Meanwhile, the mechanical strength is lacking in the alloy can be improved by the addition of copper. Alloy Al 9Zn 4Mg Cu after ageing, inserted into container of fluid dinamic each containing 3,5 NaCl, 5wt SiO2 and R134 a. This study examines the corrosion resistance of the alloy Al 9Zn 4Mg xCu through the identification of damage with weight loss, macrostructure and microstructure observations. From the test results, obtained by alloy content of 0 wt Cu is resistant to corrosion in each medium.
