ABSTRAK
Artikel ini bertujuan untuk memperlihatkan bagaimana budaya penggemar di era digital beroperasi dengan menggunakan video Let rsquo;s Play di YouTube sebagai studi kasus. Video Let rsquo;s Play adalah jenis video dimana pencipta video yang disebut Let rsquo;s Players merekam diri mereka sendiri sambil memberikan komentar ketika bermain. Dengan menggunakan dua konsep Henry Jenkins yaitu Textual Poachers dan Collective Intelligence. Bagian pertama dari analisis berfokus pada proses interaksi dan pemaknaan di dalam proses produksi video LP yang diamati melalui dua forum LP daring memperlihatkan bahwa produksi video LP merupakan sebuah proses kolektif yang dibentuk oleh berbagai interaksi serta interpretasi yang dilakukan antar Let rsquo;s Players. Sedangkan bagian kedua dari analisis berfokus pada proses pemaknaan dengan menganalisis beberapa konten video LP serta komentar penonton yang menunjukan bahwa video LP dimaknai ulang oleh para Let rsquo;s Player sebagai sebuah kendaraan untuk mengangkat berbagai isu sosial, di dalam dan dengan menggunakan video games, seperti representasi perempuan dan ekspresi politik mengenai Donald Trump. Selain itu, video LP juga membuka ruang bagi penonton untuk dapat ikut berpartisipasi aktif di dalam proses pemaknaan video game melalui komentar yang mereka berikan walaupun di saat yang sama hal tersebut juga menunjukan berbagai batasan dari proses interaksi serta pemaknaan yang dimediasi oleh YouTube.

ABSTRACT
AbstractThe aim of this article is to examine how fan culture operates in the digital era by using Let rsquo s Play videos on YouTube as a study case. Let rsquo s Play LP video is a type of video created by video games fans called Let rsquo s Players who record themselves while playing video games and give their comments during the filming. The article uses two concepts by Henry Jenkins namely Textual Poachers and Collective Intelligence. The first part of the analysis is focused on the interaction and meaning making process in the production of LP video which is observed from two LP online forums reveals that the production of LP video is a collective process shaped by various social interactions and interpretations among the Let rsquo s Players. While the second part of the analysis is focused on the meaning making process by analyzing several contents of LP videos and audiences rsquo commentaries reveals that LP video could be used by the Let rsquo s Players as a vehicle to address various social issues namely female representation and political expression regarding Donald Trump. It is also give opportunity for the audience to actively participate in the meaning making process of LP videos through their commentaries. At the same time, the analysis also reveals the limitation of the interaction and the meaning making process mediated by YouTube.
