ABSTRAKPenelitian ini membahas kritik terhadap societ de consommation atau masyarakat konsumeris yang terdapat pada sebuah lagu berjudul Foule Sentimentale karya Alain Souchon. Dalam societ de consommation, konsumsi bukan berdasarkan pada nilai guna suatu objek, namun nilai tanda pada objek tersebut. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa kritik terhadap societ de consommation dalam lagu Foule Sentimentale terlihat dari beberapa hal, diantaranya yaitu jumlah isotopi keburukan yang berjumlah lebih banyak dibanding dengan isotopi kebaikan, banyaknya majas personifikasi dan depersonifikasi pada lirik lagu yang menunjukkan bahwa kebahagiaan bagi societ de consommation hanya disamakan dengan objek/benda, serta banyaknya pengaruh buruk yang terdapat pada ciri-ciri societ de consommation.

ABSTRACTThis research discusses the criticism of the soci t de consommation or consumer society in the song Foule Sentimentale by Alain Souchon. In soci t de consommation, consumption is not based on the use value of an object, but the sign value of that object. The analysis showed that the criticism of soci t de consommation in the song Foule Sentimentale can be seen from several things, such as the number of isotopy of badness which totaled more than isotopy of kindness, the large number of personification and depersonification figure of speech in the song lyrics that show that happiness for the soci t de consommation is simply equated with the object, and a large number of bad influences on the characteristics of soci t de consommation.
