Kejadian infeksi nosokomial dalam pelayanan kesehatan baik di Indonesia maupun dunia masih mengalami peningkatan setiap tahunnya. Hal ini dikarenakan masih rendahnya tenaga kesehatan dalam menerapkan hand hygiene. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan tingkat pengetahuan hand hygiene dengan kesesuaian pelaksanaan teknik hand hygiene pada mahasiswa reguler Fakultas Ilmu Keperawatan Universitas Indonesia. Penelitian menggunakan desain cross-sectional dengan 230 sampel yang diambil menggunakan teknik stratified random sampling. Penelitian ini menggunakan instrumen tingkat pengetahuan hand hygiene modifikasi dari WHO dan lembar observasi dari WHO tahun 2006. Analisis statistik menggunakan chi-square dengan hasil bahwa tingkat pengetahuan hand hygiene memiliki hubungan sangat bermakna dengan kesesuaian pelaksanaan teknik hand hygiene X2=144,24; p=0,000; ?=0,05 . Penelitian ini merekomendasikan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan hand hygiene agar dapat meningkatkan penerapan hand hygiene dengan benar dan sesuai.

The incident nosocomial infections of health services both in indonesia and the world still was increasing every year. It was because the health workers have poor practice of hand hygiene. Research aimed to analize relationship between level of knowledge of hand hygiene with conformity the implementation of the technique hand hygiene in bachelor degree students majoring nursing university of indonesia. The research used design cross sectional with 230 samples which is chosen by stratified random sampling. This research used of the instruments level of knowledge hand hygiene modification from WHO and observation sheet from WHO 2006. Statistic analyze used chi square with the result that level of knowledge of hand hygiene had correlation with conformity the implementation of the technique hand hygiene X2 144,24 p 0,000 0,05 . This study recommended to improved the knowledge of hand hygiene to improve the implementation of hand hygiene.
