ABSTRAK
Arsitektur seringkali dipahami sebagai suatu komposisi yang utuh, tuntas, dan lengkap. Arsitek memegang kendali penuh atas desain dan prosesnya, hingga karya arsitekturnya selesai dan siap pakai oleh pengguna. Tulisan ini mempertanyakan kembali gagasan tersebut. Dengan memperbandingkan konsep lengkap dan tidak lengkap dalam arsitektur, serta mengupas bentuk-bentuk tindakan melengkapi yang mungkin dilakukan pengguna, nyata bahwa proses merancang tidak harus selalu berdasarkan pemahaman arsitektur sebagai suatu karya yang lengkap. Desain berbasis ketidaklengkapan menyerahkan peranan untuk melengkapi arsitektur kepada pengguna kreatif. Analisis terhadap Diagoon Dwellings Delft, 1967-1970 sebagai hunian yang didesain dengan ide incomplete building menunjukkan bahwa bentuk-bentuk tindakan melengkapi yang mungkin dilakukan penghuni kreatif dapat menjadi basis penting dalam merancang ketidaklengkapan yang dihadirkan. Menelusuri arsitektur sebagai sistem ketidaklengkapan yang dirancang, tulisan ini pada akhirnya mengemukakan bahwa arsitektur yang tidak lengkap, yang terus-menerus dilengkapi penggunanya, dapat menjadi perspektif baru dalam merancang arsitektur.

ABSTRAK
Architecture is often conceived as a whole, finished, and omplete composition. The architect is in full control of the design and its process, until the architectural work is completed rsquo and ready to be used. This thesis brings the idea of complete architecture into doubt. By comparing concepts of complete and incomplete in architecture, as well as discussing the acts of completion that the user can perform, it is made clear that the design process does not necessarily have to be based on understanding architecture as a complete work. Incompletion based design entrust the role of completing architecture to the creative user. Analysis on Diagoon Dwellings Delft, 1967 1970 as housings designed with the idea of lsquo incomplete building rsquo reveals that acts of completion possible to be performed by the creative dwellers could become an important basis in designing incompletions. Investigating architecture as a system of designed incompletion, this thesis finally suggests that incomplete architecture, ever completed by the user, could be a new perspective in architectural design.
