Konflik adalah hal yang pasti terjadi dalam hubungan interpersonal, termasuk dalam pernikahan. Anak kemungkinan besar menjadi saksi konflik antara kedua orangtuanya. Beberapa studi menemukan bahwa konflik antara ayah dan ibu yang dilihat oleh anak dapat memengaruhi hubungan anak itu sendiri, termasuk hubungan romantisnya. Pengaruh tersebut dapat berakibat pada kesejahteraan individu di usia emerging adult. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk melihat hubungan antara persepsi anak terhadap konflik antara ayah dan ibunya dengan kualitas hubungan romantis yang dijalaninya. Persepsi terhadap konflik antara ayah dan ibu diukur dengan Children rsquo;s Perception of Interparental Conflict Scale CPIC Scale, ? = 0.94, sedangkan kualitas hubungan romantis diukur dengan Partner Behavior in Social Context PBSC, ? = 0.92. 316 emerging adult yang sedang menjalin hubungan romantis mengikuti penelitian ini. Analisis Spearman rsquo;s rho menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang signifikan dan negatif antara persepsi terhadap konflik antara ayah dan ibu dengan kualitas hubungan romantis ? = -0,19, p < 0,01

Conflict is an inevitable event that would happen in any interpersonal relationship, including marriage. If the spouse had a child, there's high chance that the child will see their conflict. Numerous studies have found that child's observation of the conflict between his her parents could influence the child's own personal relationship, including his her romantic relationship. It could also influence the child's well being as an emerging adult.

The purpose of this study is to find correlation between the child's perception of interparental conflict and the quality of his her romantic relationship. Perception of interparental conflict is measured with Children's Perception of Interparental Conflict Scale CPIC Scale, 0.94 and romantic relationship quality is measured with Partner Behavior in Social Context PBSC, 0.92. 316 emerging adults who commit in romantic relationship participated in this study. Spearman's rho analysis showed that there is a negative significant correlation between perception of interparental conflict and romantic relationship quality 0.19, p 0.01 .
