ABSTRAKPenelitian bertujuan untuk mencari tahu secara komprehensif preferensi kondisi nilai tukar dalam ilmu ekonomi Islam melalui metode Islamisasi Ilmu Ekonomi IOE . Penggunaan metode IOE berarti akan melibatkan perspektif sejarah, fikih, dan juga ekonomi. Dalam perspektif sejarah, ditemukan padanan kasus baik kondisi nilai tukar yang stabil maupun tidak stabil dalam sejarah peradaban Islam. Berdasarkan pendapat Al-Maqrizi dan Al-Asadi dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa kondisi nilai tukar yang stabil menjadi kondisi nilai tukar yang ingin dicapai oleh pemerintahan Islam pada masa lalu. Namun secara teknis untuk mencapai kondisi tersebut masih diperdebatkan antara penggunaan sistem nilai tukar tetap atau melalui kontrol moneter. Kemudian dari perspektif fikih, terdapat hikmah dari adanya pengaturan pertukaran mata uang adalah untuk mendorong stabilitas nilai tukar yang secara normatif menguatkan bahwa ilmu ekonomi Islam menginginkan nilai tukar yang stabil. Terakhir dari perspektif ekonomi, pengujian regresi menunjukkan hubungan yang negatif antara volatilitas nilai tukar dengan pertumbuhan perdagangan internasional dan hubungan yang positif terhadap inflasi. Artinya bahwa volatilitas nilai tukar menjadi variabel yang kontraproduktif terhadap stabilitas perekonomian. Sehingga secara keseluruhan dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa preferensi kondisi nilai tukar dalam ilmu ekonomi Islam melalui metode IOE adalah kondisi nilai tukar yang stabil dengan derajat kestabilan tidak kaku.

ABSTRACTThis study aims to find out comprehensively the preference of exchange rate condition in the Islamic economics through the method of Islamization of Economics IOE . The use of the IOE means it will involve a historical, fiqh, and economic perspective to the case. In the historical perspective, it found the equivalent case of both stable and unstable exchange rate conditions in the history of Islamic civilization. Through the opinions of Al Maqrizi and Al Asadi, it could be concluded that exchange rate stability was the conditions of exchange rate that the Islamic government had been trying to achieve in the past. However, technically to achieve the condition was debated between the use of fixed exchange rate system or through the monetary control. Then from the fiqh perspective, the wisdom of the currency exchange arrangement is to encourage exchange rate stability which normatively will corroborate Islamic economics preference to the stable exchange rate. Finally from economic perspective, regression testing shows a negative relationship between exchange rate volatility and the growth of international trade and a positive relationship to inflation. This means that exchange rate volatility becomes a counterproductive variable to the stability of the economy. So overall it can be concluded that the preference of exchange rate condition in Islamic economics through IOE method is stable condition of exchange rate with not rigid in stability degree.
