ABSTRACTIn the current situation, merger is an instrument that could not be separated in the economic sector, particularly in the banking sector. Merger is one of many ways for banks to expand their business and originate the inter connection that it faces. Hence, the merger of these three banks is a measure to expand and compete with the global market and nevertheless to comply with regulations set forth by the Indonesian government. The research method used in this research is juridical normative. The result of this research suggests the Indonesian government has succeed in their plans to continuously regulate matters in the banking sector to compete and modernize the banking sector in in Indonesia.

ABSTRAKDalam situasi saat ini, merger merupakan instrumen yang tidak dapat dipisahkan di sektor ekonomi terutama di sektor perbankan. Merger adalah salah satu dari banyak cara bagi bank untuk mengembangkan bisnis mereka dan memulai hubungan antar muka yang dihadapinya. Dengan demikian, merger ketiga bank tersebut merupakan ukuran daya saing global memathi peraturan-peraturan yang ditetapkan oleh pemerintah Indonesia. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah yuridis normatif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pemerintah Indonesia telah berhasil dalam mengelola sektor perbankan di Indonesia.
