ABSTRAK
Jauh sebelum wilayah Palestina terbentuk menjadi sebuah negara, wilayah Palestina silih berganti dijajah oleh berbagai bangsa, salah satunya adalah Bangsa Romawi. Kedatangan Bangsa Romawi dengan membawa hukum yang keras dan perbedaan sistem kepercayaan yang belum bisa diterima penduduk Palestina memicu timbulnya perlawanan. Pada jurnal yang berjudul Palestina di bawah kekuasaan Romawi ini, dibahas beberapa hal yang berkaitan dengan penjajahan Romawi atas Palestina dari tahun 63 SM, yaitu sejarah penduduk Palestina, kedatangan Romawi dan pemerintahannya, kondisi masyarakat di Palestina pada saat ekspansi Romawi, serta perlawanan masyarakat terhadap ekspansi tersebut. Dalam penyusunan jurnal ini, peneliti menggunakan metode studi pustaka dan teori kekuasaan dari Weber. Palestina merupakan salah satu negara Timur Tengah yang sejak dulu kerap mengalami konflik. Negara yang memiliki untaian sejarah penting bagi tiga agama ini menjadi wilayah yang diperebutkan oleh beberapa negara atau bangsa di dunia, baik untuk kepentingan ekonomi, politik, maupun agama. Salah satu bangsa yang sempat menduduki negara Palestina adalah Romawi. Romawi dapat menguasai Palestina setelah berhasil mengusir Yunani keluar. Kedatangan Bangsa Romawi menimbulkan kecemasan dan pergolakan dalam wilayah Palestina. Tidak hanya itu, masyarakat beberapa kali melakukan pemberontakan untuk mengusir penjajah dari wilayah mereka.
