In Indonesian context specifically, technology and culture have frequently been seen not only as two separated domains but also positioned technology as superior to culture. This article discusses that anthropo/ogical-archeologica/ studies clearly indicate that artefactual materials are the products of the work of culture. It argues that culture and its products, technology is one of them, are unsepararable entities. It also discusses that although culture definition has been changing from time to time, depending on paradigm upon which it works, there is one that has been unchanged, that is culture as the very source of all aspects of human life, and "the soul" of all scientific disciplines including technology.ยท
