ABSTRAKPenelitian ini membahas representasi Hiroshima melalui tokoh Akainu dalam komik One Piece, tidak hanya dalam hal ujaran, yaitu dialek Hiroshima yang muncul pada tokoh, namun juga dalam stereotip serta unsur budaya. Dialek Hiroshima sering kali dihubungkan dengan cara bicara yakuza dan Akainu memiliki ciri-ciri fisik yakuza tersebut. Ilustrasi masa kecil tokoh Akainu pun merepresentasikan korban bom atom hibakusha yang jatuh di Hiroshima pada 6 Agustus 1945. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa studi pustaka dan kuesioner. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Akainu merepresentasikan Hiroshima melalui ujaran, sifat/karakter, serta ciri-ciri fisik tokoh dalam komik One Piece volume 56 ndash;59.

ABSTRACTThis study identifies the representation of Hiroshima through the character named Akainu from One Piece comic, not only through his type of speech, but also the stereotype and the elements of culture throughout Hiroshima. Hiroshima dialect is commonly associated with the Japanese yakuza rsquo s way of speaking and Akainu does have certain traits of the yakuza. The illustration of his childhood is also a representation of the surviving victims of the atomic explosion hibakusha in Hiroshima on August 6, 1945. This research is a qualitative research by using literature review and questionnaire to collect the data. The result shows that Akainu is the representation of Hiroshima in One Piece comic through his way of speaking and both his character and physical traits.
