ABSTRAK
Kasus bunuh diri di Korea Selatan masih menjadi salah satu masalah yang dominan. Akan tetapi di antara bunuh diri yang terjadi, lansia adalah kelompok umur yang melakukan jumlah bunuh diri terbesar di Korea Selatan. Hal ini dikarenakan adanya pergeseran dari nilai hyo dalam masyarakat Korea Selatan dan mempengaruhi kohesivitas sosial masyarakat. Tujuan penulisan jurnal ini adalah mencari kaitan dari pergeseran nilai hyo dalam institusi keluarga dan bagaimana pergeseran tersebut mempengaruhi tingkat bunuh diri lansia di Korea Selatan dan peran kohesivitias sosial dalam rupa institusi keluarga dan institusi sosial dalam mencegah bunuh diri lansia di Korea Selatan. Metode penulisan yang digunakan dalam penulisan jurnal ini adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan pengumpulan sumber data melalui studi kepustakaan. Hasil temuan dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ada hubungan antara pergeseran nilai hyo terhadap peningkatan bunuh diri lansia di Korea Selatan.

ABSTRACT
The case of suicide in South Korea still remains as one of its most dominant issues. But among the suicides that occurred, the elderly were the age group that had the largest number of suicide cases in South Korea. This is due to the shift of the hyo value in South Korean society and its effect to the social cohesiveness in society. The purpose of writing this journal is to look for a connection between the shift in the hyo value in the family institution and how this shift affects elderly suicide rate in South Korea and the role of social cohesion in the form of families and social institutions in preventing elderly suicide in South Korea. Method used in the writing of this paper is the descriptive qualitative and the method of collecting the data source is through the study of literature. The findings of this study indicate that there is a correlation between the shift in the hyo value against an increase of elderly suicide in South Korea.
