ABSTRAK
Pendahuluan: Radikal bebas menjadi masalah yang serius karena dapat menyebabkan berbagai macam penyakit. Radikal bebas dapat merusak sel melewati efek oksidan terutama pada sel hati yang berfungsi sebagai organ detoksifikasi dan plasma darah. Salah satu indikator kerusakan akibat radikal bebas adalah dengan mengukur aktivitas senyawa GSH. Cengkeh Syzygium aromaticum merupakan rempah yang dipercaya memiliki efek antioksidan yang kuat. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui efek antioksidan dari ekstrak air cengkeh terhadap paparan CCl4 pada Tikus Wistar dengan perbedaan jangka waktu dan perbandingan kadar dalam hati dan plasma darah.Metode: Desain penelitian berupa studi eksperimental in vivo pada 24 tikus Wistar dibagi ke dalam 5 kelompok secara acak, yaitu 1 Kontrol Normal tanpa diberikan perlakuan, 2 Kontrol Positif induksi CCl4 diikuti alfa-tokoferol, 3 Kontrol Negatif hanya induksi CCl4, 4 CCl4 Cengkeh 1 induksi CCl4 diikuti ekstrak air cengkeh selama 1 hari, dan 5 CCl4 Cengkeh 3 induksi CCl4 diikuti ekstrak air cengkeh selama 3 hari . Dosis ekstrak air cengkeh yang diberikan yaitu 200 mg/kgBB.Hasil: Pada hati, kadar GSH lebih tinggi pada kelompok CCl4 Cengkeh 3 daripada kontrol positif dan negatif p=0,008 sedangkan pada plasma darah, kadar GSH lebih tinggi pada hari ke-3 daripada kelompok positif dan negatif p=0,001. Kesimpulan: Ekstrak air cengkeh memiliki aktivitas antioksidan yang mampu mengatasi kerusakan hati dan plasma darah akibat induksi CCl4 dalam waktu pemberian 3 hari p=0,001 .Waktu tersebut dibutuhkan ekstrak air cengkeh untuk menunjukkan efek yang signifikan terhadap kadar GSH dalam hati dan plasma darah.

ABSTRACT
Introduction Free radicals is a serious problem because it can cause various diseases. Free radicals can damage cell throught its oxidant effect, especially in the liver and blood plasms. One indicator of the damage caused by free radicals are Glutation GSH compounds. Cloves Syzygium aromaticum is believed to have strong antioxidant. This research to investigate the antioxidant effects of water extracts of cloves on CCl4 exposure on Wistar Rats with difference in duration and ratio between GSH levels in liver and blood plasm. Methode The study design was experimental research in vivo on 24 Wistar rats were liver and plasma are each divided into 5 groups, which 1 normal control without being offered treatment, 2 positive control induced by CCl4 and followed by alpha tocopherol, 3 negative control only induced By CCl4, 4 CCl4 cloves 1 induced by CCl4 and followed by water extracts for 1 day, and 5 CCl4 cloves 3 induced by CCl4 and followed water extracts of cloves for 3 days. The dose of clove water extract given are 200 mg kgBB.Result In the liver, GSH level in Cloves CCl4 1 higher than positive control, negative control and cloves 1 p 0,008 while in the blood plasm, GSH level in Cloves CCl4 3 higher than positive control and negative control p 0,001. Conclusion Clove water extract has antioxidant effects that can overcome the liver and blood plasm damage caused by CCl4 induction within 3 days p 0,001. These times it takes clove water extract to show significant effect on GSH levels in liver and blood plasm.
