ABSTRACTPenelitian ini fokus mengenai struktur pada zona subduksi di Kepulauan Nias.Zona subduksi merupakan zona pertumbukan antar lempeng benua dan lempeng samudra. Sebelum zona subduksi terbentuk terjadi pembentukan kerak samudera di mana pada daerah penelitian ini ditandai dengan Wharton Fosil Ridge. Pertumbukan antar lempeng dapat menghasilkan suatu struktur prisma akresi yang mempunyai karakteristik batuan melange akibat penunjaman lempeng tersebut. Pada penelitian ini telah dilakukan proses pengolahan data seismik refleksi 2D serta interpretasi pembentukan Wharton fossil ridge, zona subduksi, dan prisma akresi.

ABSTRACTThis research is focusing on structure at Nias Islands subduction zone. Subduction zone is the collision zone of continental plate and oceanic plate. Prior to the establishment of the subduction zone there is an event of the making of continental crust in which in this research area is marked by Wharton Fossil Ridge. The collision of the plates can produce an accretion prism structure which has the melanges rock characteristics because of the plates rsquo subduction. In this research it has been done 2D seismic reflection data processing and the interpretation of the Wharton fossil ridge establishment, subduction zone, and accretion prism.
