Perkembangan teknologi pada flotasi dan water-waste treatment sangat cepat. Teknologi yang ramah lingkungan ini adalah gelembung. Sifat gelembung menyebabkan materi dapat terpisah menjadi materi yg dibutuhkan atau tidak. Tentunya dengan penambahan-penambahan bahan kimia lainnya, tetapi ini sangat lingkungan. Pada saat pembentukkan gelembung, terjadi peristiwa air entrainment. penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui parameter-parameter yang mempengaruhi peristiwa air entrainment yaitu hubungan diameter downcomer dna kecepatan jet terhadap air entrainment. Set up alat yang digunakan adalah pompa, nozzle, downcomer, flow meter, reducer dan kolam air yang terbuat kaca. Semua itu dihubungkan dengan pipa, data yang didapatkan berupa video dan foto menggunakan kamera. Dari sana didapatkan data kuantitatif dan kualitatif, untuk kuantitatif data di proses menggunakan program pengolahan gambar. Hasil dari penelitiannya bahwa jet velocity mempengaruhi air entrainment, sedangkan diameter downcomer mempengaruhi nilai dari air entrainment tersebut.

The development of technology on flotation and water waste treatment is very fast. This environmentally friendly technology is a bubble. The nature of the bubble causes the material to separate into the material needed or not. Obviously with the addition of other chemicals, but this is eco friendly. At the time of bubble formation, water entrainment events occur. this study aims to determine the parameters that affect the entrainment of water events that is the relationship of diameter downcomer and jet velocity to water entrainment. Set up tools used are pumps, nozzle, downcomer, flow meter, reducer and glass water pool. All that is connected with the pipe, the data obtained in the form of video and photos using the camera. From there obtained quantitative and qualitative data, for quantitative data in the process using image processing program. Results from his research that jet velocity affects water entrainment, whereas the diameter of the downcomer affects the value of the water entrainment.
