Secara umum prevalensi HIV di wilayah Indonesia masih berkisar 0,43 , namun pada beberapa kelompok populasi berisiko tinggi telah terlihat peningkatan prevalensi yang signifikan sejak tahun 1990-an, terutama pada kelompok Wanita Pekerja Seks WPS , Lelaki Seks dengan Lelaki LSL , dan Waria. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi status HIV pada wanita pekerja seks di Indonesia. Desain studi penelitian ini adalah potong lintang dengan analisis bivariat menggunakan data STBP 2013. Jumlah sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah 2242. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan prevalensi HIV pada WPSL adalah 7,2 dan ada hubungan yang signifikan antara Konsistensi Penggunaan Kondom pada Tamu/Pelanggan p=0,001 , Konsistensi Penggunaan Kondom pada Pacar p=0,004 , dan Lama Bekerja p=0,024 . Perlu dilakukannya kerja sama dengan berbagai lembaga, seperti LSM untuk dapat meningkatkan upaya preventif dan promotif demi menurunkan tingkat prevalensi HIV pada WPSL.

In general, the prevalence of HIV in the territory of Indonesia is still around 0.43 , but in some high risk population groups it has seen a significant increase in prevalence since the 1990s, especially in the Female Sex Workers, Male Sex with Men MSM , and Transvestites. This study aims to determine the factors that affect HIV status in semale sex workers in Indonesia. The design of this study used bivariate analysis using IBBS data in 2013. The sample size in this study was 2242. The results showed that the prevalence of HIV in WPSL was 7.2 and there was a significant relationship between the consistency of condom use with Customer p 0,001 Consistency of Condom Use with boyfriend p 0,004 , and duration of work p 0,024 . Need to work with various institutions, such as NGOs to be able to increase preventive and promotive efforts to reduce the level of HIV prevalence in female sex workers.
