ABSTRAK
Tesis ini membahas rekonstruksi sosok Drupadi sebagai strategi untukmenampilkan subjektivitas perempuan dalam novel Drupadi karya Seno GumiraAdjidarma. Drupadi bukanlah wacana kosong melainkan penceritaan ulang kisahMahabharata yang difokuskan pada penceritaan tokoh Drupadi. Sebagairepresentasi perempuan, Drupadi dalam novel Drupadi dihadirkan dengankonstruksi baru yang berbeda dengan konstruksi lamanya dalam ceritaMahabharata baik versi India maupun versi Jawa Serat Baratajuda . Olehkarena itu, penelitian ini akan difokuskan pada bagaimana rekonstruksi Drupadiditampilkan melalui struktur naratif novel dan bagaimana rekonstruksi tersebutkemudian menghadirkan konstruksi subjektivitas perempuan dalam novel.Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian analisis tekstual yang berfokuspada analisis gender. Pemaknaan teks akan dilakukan menggunakan pembacaanberperspektif feminis dengan pendekatan kritik sastra feminis reading as awoman. Dalam operasionalnya, teori struktural digunakan untuk membantumembaca isu gender dalam struktur naratif novel. Hasil penelitian menunjukkanbahwa novel ini merekonstruksi Drupadi dalam Serat Baratajuda danmengembalikannya kepada asalnya Mahabharata versi India . Rekonstruksi inisekaligus memperlihatkan adanya penolakan pelemahan perempuan dalam ceritaMahabharata baik versi India maupun versi Jawa dengan menghadirkankonstruksi subjektivitas perempuan melalui tokoh Drupadi dalam novel.

ABSTRACT
The focus of this study is to discuss the reconstruction of Drupadi figure asa strategy to show women subjectivity in Drupadi novel by Seno GumiraAdjidarma. Drupadi is not an empty discourse but it is a retelling of Mahabharatastory focused on the narrative of Drupadi. As a representation of women, Drupadiin Drupadi novel is represented with a new construction which is different fromits old construction in Mahabharata, both India and Javanese versions SeratBaratajuda . Therefore, this research focuses on how the reconstruction ofDrupadi is potrayed through the narrative structure of the novel and how thereconstruction then presents the construction of women subjectivity in the novel.This research uses a textual analysis research method which focuses on genderanalysis. The meaning of the text was scrutinized by using feminist perspectiveespecially ldquo reading as a woman rdquo , an approach of feminist literary criticism. In itsoperation, structural theory is used to read the gender issues in the narrativestructures of novel. The results show that this novel reconstructs Drupadi in SeratBaratajuda and returns it to its origin Mahabharata in India version . Thisreconstruction also shows a rejection of women disempowering in Mahabharatastory, both in India and Javanese versions, by presenting the construction ofwomen subjectivity through Drupadi figure in the novel.
