Artikel ini membahas tentang dominasi id dalam kehidupan Therese Raquin yang merupakan tokoh utama dalam novel Therese Raquin karya Emile Zola, seorang penulis Prancis beraliran naturalisme. Metode yang digunakan dalam tulisan ini adalah metode kualitatif kajian sastra struktural dengan bantuan konsep struktur kepribadian menurut Sigmund Freud. Analisis memperlihatkan bahwa terdapat perkembangan kepribadian yang mengarah kepada dominasi Id dalam kehidupan Therese Raquin. Dominasi Id dalam diri Therese dimulai sejak ia bertemu dengan Laurent, dilatarbelakangi oleh adanya ketidakseimbangan Ego semenjak Therese kecil dan adanya pengaruh dari Laurent yang sejak sekolah lebih banyak dikendalikan oleh Id.

This article discusses the domination of id in the life of Therese Raquin who is the main character in the novel Therese Raquin by Emile Zola, a naturalism French writer. The method used in this paper is a qualitative method of study of structural literature with the help of the structural personality concept according to Sigmund Freud. Analysis shows that there is a development of personality that leads to the dominance of Id in the life of Therese Raquin. The domination of Id in Therese begins since she met Laurent, motivated by the imbalance of Ego since she was young and the influence of Laurent who controlled more by Id since he was at school age.
